Ogilvy seems to agree. Writing a good magazine ad is critical to an effective ad campaign. (From Ogilvy on Advertising) I think his views can be expanded further to other media used in ads and after several years in the Learning Design space, I agree.

As learning professionals, we write tons more than a copywriter in an ad agency; hoping to acheive the impact of a successful ad. Creative writing skills in the life of a learning professional is the key to mesmerizing the learner.
